Hi Maraia, I found a Millington, TN in Shelby County, is this anywhere near? Did your Mom know of the KING family? Hello Maraia, My grandfather, Samuel (Jack) KING was 1/2 Samoan, and he had a brother that lived in TN, not sure of town, I have Lillington, TN, but have been unable to locate such a place. Anyway, his name was Harry KING b. 1913 Pago Pago, American Samoa, maybe your Mom knows of the family?? Welcome to the mailing list I just joined myself. Hi, We now have a grand total of four on the list. We might as well start communicating. I suggest that we introduce ourselves and tell what family history program we are working on. We can post again later as the list grows. My name is Karen Bush. I've been doing genealogy research seriously for about 20 years now. I live in northern Arizona. I don't have any Samoan genealogy. My connection is that my grandfather, Dee Hickman served a LDS mission there in 1909. I started the Samoan GenWeb page because when I was looking for it, there wasn't one. Although I didn't have a research interest, I felt that at least a beginning page was better then no page. If anyone has records or history information to contribute, I will be glad to add it. I started the mailing list to add to the site because I felt it's time would come. I'm pretty layed back as far as running a mailing list goes and hope that you will all feel free to discuss not only your genealogy problems, but share what you know about the history of Samoa and what is happening there today and anything that will be of interest to other researchers. I do want to point you to something new at www.familysearch.org -- go to that page and then click on the "Custom" tag. There is a new link to Reserach Guidance and there are research outlines and the basic steps of research there. Some of you may find that helpful. Karen Bush
