I'm a descendant of Francis and Rebecca Towne Nourse. So many places I see the name as Nurse, but in our family for six generations the name has been Nourse. I've wondered about the different spellings of the name, too. Was it accidental or deliberate? Was it a phonetic error? WAS there a reason? Maybe someone on the list has answers.
