Hi. I am also a descendant of Susannah North Martin through her daughter, Jane. I've been reading trial testimony and other info about her, and am sooo proud to be descended from this outspoken, assertive woman. One person on the list once said that she felt Susannah was wrong because she didn't put her children first and confess so she wouldn't be hanged. Well, I stood up for Susannah. If we all sacrifice the truth as we believe it for whatever reason, it is THEN that we fail. Besides, by the time she was hanged, I think all of her children were fairly well grown, not babies, and ought to have been very proud of her. Susan Smith
