Hi all! A quick note from your list-keeper: I just wanted to say that I've been very pleased to read the recent posts about witchcraft accusations and trials in parts of Massachusetts other than Salem and about the lesser-known "outbreak" in Connecticut, despite the fact that "Salem" is in the list's name. I have edited the welcome message to include this as within the scope I intended for this list, and those posts are most welcome. I hope people interested in those cases find community here. Additionally, I want to make sure that everyone knows that while the list apparently seems to be more for descendants of the trials, which is why I chose to have Rootsweb host it, no one with a sincere interest in these people and events should feel like they are on the list under "false pretenses," okay? Besides, how often can we genealogists actually find people who will not only stay awake while we discuss our own ancestors, but are actually *interested* in them!? ;D I've updated the information page about this list accordingly, so I'll take this opportunity to urge you all to bookmark it for future reference, since it contains basic information about the list, subscribing, posting, searching the archives, and yes, even unsubscribing: http://www.ogram.org/17thc/salem-witch-list.shtml Cheers, Margo Margo Burns, List Owner of the SALEM-WITCH List at Rootsweb.com [email protected]
