    1. Re: [SALEM-WITCH-L] Genealogies
    2. Amy Bond Simpson
    3. Hi. I don't know of any one book that will "untangle" their genealogies. I really don't think they are any more "tangled" than any families for that time. The towns were small and the families were large. I have been doing my genealogy, and that of my husband, for over thirty years, mostly in Essex County, MA. I have found that ANY event affected many of my ancestors, either directly or indirectly. The Witchcraft and the Indian Raids probably are the best known, but the "Putrid Sore Throat" that decimated all the children in entire families, and many other events, could be considered "tangled genealogies". The more one does genealogy, the more one realizes that the early families were nearly all related within a few generations. The moving patterns caused entire families to move to a new place, often accompanied by one or two other families. Their children married and inter-married. The more I study the Salem (and other) Witchcraft personnel, the more I can connect them to each other. I don't consider this unusual. Amy [email protected]
