Mary PARKER of Andover was hanged 2 Sept 1692 in Salem. In Bailey's "Historical Sketches of Andover," 1880, p210, a petition signed by Mary PARKER's sons is cited, and a portion quoted, "Whereas our honored mother was Imprisoned and upon her Tryal was condemned for supposed witchcraft upon such evidence as is now generally thought to be insufficient and suffered the Pains of Death at Salem in the year 1692 we being well satisfied of not only her innocency of that crime that she was condemned for, but of her piety humbly desire that the attainders may be taken off, that so her name that has suffered may be restored." Bailey cites no source for this petition, saying only that it was filed by Mary PARKER's sons. Do any listmembers know where the full text of this petition can be found?
