One of my ancestors EDWARD WIGHTMAN, was burned at the stake (twice - just singed the first time and "repented" of his "heretical" beliefs. One month later he was caught preaching unacceptable ideas. This time, no repentance was allowed at the stake. His grandson, Valentine Whitman is the founder of the WHITMAN/WIGHTMAN/WEIGTMAN family in America.
