Pamela, You are indeed a romantic. I am too, but in this case all the romance was in Miller's creative imagination. Granted all that you say about puberty, there remains zero historical evidence to support the notion that Abigail and Proctor had any kind of relationship. There is no more reason to believe in this love affair than there is to believe that Martians invaded earth as H.G. Wells wrote about in War of the Worlds. It is simply a fiction created by an author. I am confident that if you wrote Miller he would assure you that the romance was made out of whole cloth. Cheers, Bernie
