Hello all! Yes, it's summer vacation for me, and I am trying to get my materials at home in order. I am hoping someone has the info I discovered I wanted today: "Parris's Records of Deaths," published in the New England Historical and Genealogical Record (NEGHR), 36 (April 1882). I am specifically interested in finding out who in Salem Village was killed in the Indian Wars in Maine during that time, but the full list would be most appreciated, and could be of interest to other listees... If no one has it already, I will put it on my checklist of things to look up one of those rainy days when I go hole up in the Philipps Library all day instead of going to the beach, and post it myself -- but just in case someone else already has it, I thought I'd ask. :D Cheers, Margo

I understand that my 9th great grandmother, Rebecca Chamberlain (Shelley) was convicted of witchcraft and was jailed in Cambridge. She died in prison in Cambridge. Being a far removed Canadian could someone please advise where I would find a written record of this and preferably somewhere on the internet. I also hope that one thing this episode reinforces for us is the importance of intergenerational communication, especially in regard to new technologies. A computer in the home is a real temptation for kids. Parents need to learn more about the Internet if only to help guide their children. Even though it sometimes seems that the children know how to run the computers better, it is still up to the adults to teach children how to become responsible and respectful of other people living in the world around them, including the elusive world of cyberspace. Of course, we here in this list are probably more aware than most of the impact that children's unchecked behavior in the "invisible world" can have on a community!
