    1. [SAINSBURY-L] Sainsbury DNA Project
    2. RouX Renard
    3. Hi Sainsburys! I'm looking for some Sainsbury males who have taken Y-DNA tests, or would consider taking one. I've just started a DNA project for the Sainsbury family. There's a bit of a 'chicken or egg' mystery about where the line started and who started it. Male Sainsbury Y-DNA matching is probably the only way it can be solved. More details on the Project's homepage. http://rouxrenard.com/Sainsbury-DNA-Project GENETIC GENEALOGY? Using your DNA to track down your ancestors is becoming an increasingly popular genealogical tool. It enables you to break through a lot of research brick walls and can give details of your 'deep' ancestry and the historical migrations made by your ancestors. LADIES? The male Y-DNA is being used by the project because it is linked to the surname in a way that female mt-DNA is not. However, you can still support the project by encouraging your father, paternal uncles, brothers and male Sainsbury cousins to participate. TEST COSTS? Tests are available from commercial Y-DNA test companies and range in price depending on whether you take a basic 12 or 15 marker Y-DNA test, or a fuller 43 or 51 marker Y-DNA test. Personally I'd recommend - http://www.dnaancestryproject.com/ http://www.dna-bioscience.co.uk/service_ychromosome_test.shtml * http://dna.ancestry.com/welcome.aspx * DNA-Bioscience are pricey, but they are British and quicker! BENEFITS? A low marker test gives you a basic picture about your roots, a fuller test can reveal an astoundingly accurate and detailed picture of your ancestry! You'll also be able to input your results into online databases and discover cousins and relations all around the world! Start a fascinating journey to find out who you really are... and help us to put Sainsbury on the DNA map. best regards RouX (Grandson of Alice Margery Sainsbury) http://rouxrenard.com/Sainsbury-DNA-Project
