    3. There is another Sackett Cemetery that I have information on but have not been able to locate the exact location.   (This is not the Mondale Cemetery in the Woods.)   It was mentioned that it was on the Roland Sackett farm.  Several Sacketts that were buried there were moved to Pinehill Cemetery from this elusive site.  I talked with lots of the locals around Westfield and they verified that there  was a Sackett Cemetery in an apple orchard near  a Rock Quarry.  It seems that the graves were not marked very well  and it could have disappeared in time.  This Cemetery was mentioned in some of the old deeds but trying to locate the site is next to impossible.  Example: deed says property line runs from big maple tree to old stump then to corner on top of rise between adjoining property owner.  I still have copies of the old deeds that I have not had a chance to research.  I feel that somewhere in the old deeds it will mention the old Cemetery.    There was mention by the locals that during the site preperation work for the construction of a new home, artifacts were found.  I never was able to find out when or who did the site  work.  I do know the location of the house though. Fred was obviously fully aware of the cemetery as there are pictures of the gravestones on his website. Sacketts buried there are Moses (1766-1850), Tryphena his wife (1772-1854), and their children: Levi (1800-1846), Tryphosa (1810-1819), William (1807-1842), and Walter (1803-1840). > > The cemetery is referred to by Fred and Thurmon as the Old Mundale Cemetery, in the woods, Westfield. > > Chris Sackett > ------------------------------- > The Sackett Family Association website is at http://www.sackettfamily.info/. > > To contact the Sackett List Admin, send a message to SACKETT-admin@rootsweb.com. > > See list information and search the archives at http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/surname/s/sackett.html > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SACKETT-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > > ------------------------------- > The Sackett Family Association website is at http://www.sackettfamily.info/. > > To contact the Sackett List Admin, send a message to SACKETT-admin@rootsweb.com. > > See list information and search the archives at http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/surname/s/sackett.html > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SACKETT-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- The Sackett Family Association website is at http://www.sackettfamily.info/.
