FYI... http://valleyforgemusterroll.org/QueryMSAccess.asp This site was shared on my COUNTRYMAN-L list. You are able to search the muster role for people who served at Valley Forge during the Revolution. When you search for sacket, the following appears: ID Number Last First State Rank Regiment Please Select NY22674 SACKET SAMUEL NY CAPTAIN 4 NY NY22674 CT15271 SACKET THOMAS CT PRIVATE 7 CT CT15271 VA02330 Sackett James VA Surgeons Mate 14 VA VA02330 NY22575 SACKETT PETER NY ADJUTANT 4 NY NY22575 CT29646 SACKETT THOMAS CT Private 7 CT CT29646 Each one of the listings has a link but there isn't all that much information except for James from VA. At one place it states: April 1778: Court Martial/Resigned And at the bottom, it states: Tried for being Absent Without Leave and convicted. He was also charged with neglect of procurement and acquitted. Date of resignation 24 April 1778. I hope this isn't a repeat. I don't remember it, if it is but that wouldn't be unusual. Better a repeat than not at all!!
