    3. Louella: I had found the databases of William V. Hopkins and Butram C. Hopkins. Using their information and using information from the Sackett Family Forum at Genealogy.com along with messages on Ancestry.com's Sackett Message Board I have been trying to construct his family. As is usually the case with information taken from sources like these, there is conflicting information and not much in the way of documentation to support some of the claims. So I am trying to collect some information so that I can determine which information is correct. The only provable information for Nathaniel B. Sackett is that he was born in NY about 1817 and that his father was listed as born in MA and his mother in NY. That he was in Dodge Co., WI in 1850 then Fond du Lac Co., WI in 1855 and 1860 and then Pleasant Grove, Olmsted Co., MN in 1870 and 1880. After I asked you to look up Nathaniel B. in the 1860 census for WI I discovered that I had downloaded a transcription of it from http://www.rootsweb.com/~census/ 1860 Federal Census Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin (Town of Alto: File 2 of 2) REEL NO: M653-1407 PAGE NO: 70; REFERENCE: Enumerated on 23 June, 1860 14 532 532 Sackett N.B. 43 M Farmer 2,000 530 New York 15 532 532 Sackett Agnes 42 F Scotland 16 532 532 Sackett Cyrus 11 M New York X 17 532 532 Sackett James 9 M Wisconsin X REMARKS: Idiotic 18 532 532 Sackett Allen 5 M Wisconsin X 19 532 53 Sackett Robert 9/12 M Wisconsin [The child listed as Allen age 5 M is listed as Ellen in the 1870 and 1880 census.] One of the claims I have found says that Nathaniel B. Sackett was married 1st to Olive Agness Henry and fathered a daughter Olive Sackett who married a LAMBERT whom is supposed to have lived in Pleasant Grove, MN. According to this source Olive's mother died when she was a little girl and she was supposed to have been left in NY with her HENRY grandparents when Nathaniel and his 2nd wife, Agnes Young, moved to WI. Soooo, based on my theory that Nathaniel B. Sackett MIGHT be related to the Sacketts in Ontario Co., NY ... I was taking a "shot in the dark" when I asked about people with the HENRY surname in Ontario Co., in 1850. It looks as though there were a few more HENRYs in Ontario than I had expected. But I se that there are six listed in Naples. Maybe they would have something that will help. In other words, I'm sort of fumbling around trying to find something that might make a connection for the family of Nathaniel B. Sackett.
