Thurman, the printed index for the 1850 census is incorrect the indexer misread the name of Ashman. When reading the census it is quite clearly Ashman, age 20 in the household of Claudius. His age indicates that he is probably a brother or cousin of Claudius. In the account of Norman's family given in Bronson's History of Tallmadge, Ohio the only person I can find who would fit is a half-brother to Claudius, Solomon Ashman Sackett, b. 7 Mar 1830.
