Hello Sackett Searchers; While I was in Salt Lake City I did a little bit of searching for information on Joseph Sackett of Berkshire Co., MA; Onondaga Co., NY; Ontario Co., NY and Allegany Co., NY. Earlier we had information relating to the will of Jedediah Cleveland of Onondaga Co., NY [dated 24 Sep 1831 (Book E, p. 168)] in which he mentions his daughter Philinda Sackett. I found that his will was proven 23 Nov 1831 (Book E, p. 168-174) in which it states that Jedediah's daughters Philinda [Sackett] and Orvilla [m. Avery Rice] "live in Allegany County". So this shows that Joseph Sackett, father of Harvey Chafy Sackett and Merrill Cleveland Sackett, had been located in Onondaga Co., NY. I also discovered that Joseph Sackett of Allegany county was a Pensioner of the War of 1812 and was pleasantly surprised to find that his pension file is on the CD that Liesa gave to me while in Salt Lake City. The information from his file is as follows: DECLARATION United States of America -- State of New York County of Steuben On this 10th day of July A.
