Chris, If you remember, a short while back I learned that William Blomfield was a 1st settler of Middletown, CT (1650-1655) I was quite excited by this, as listed on the Plaque of 1st Settlers was his wife Sarah as well, although this would have been a major conflict with what we generally believe to be the timeline of William and Isabel. The original plaque was done in 1900, with a newer one done in 2000 when the founder's descendants association was formed. I had hoped there would be information on the Blomfield/Sackett families of Middletown but that is not the case. It seems the historians responsible for the plaque used the passenger list of the Elizabeth, listing William, Sarah, and daughter Sarah. They assumed wife Sarah was still alive when William settled in Middletown, thus listing her on the plaque. If I had been aware of this group in 2000 when they placed the new plaque, I would have made an effort to see that Isabel took her rightful place there. As I go through the association records, and the records of the Cromwell Historical Society, I hope to uncover something of the Blomfield household.
