    3. Thurmon, Chris and Tom: The idea that Daniel was the first born of William and Isabel makes sense except there was a gap between his birth (1638) and John and Samuels baptisms (1645 &1647). Going through my stacks of paper I came across a list of Passengers for New England in April 1634 on the Elizabeth of Ipswich. Willliam Bloomfield age 30, wife Sarah age 25 and daughter Sarah age 1. No Daniel listed on this ship as a child of William. I vaguely recall reading that William's first wife Sarah died on the "passage over or soon after" but I could have that all wrong. I suppose it is possible she died in childbirth with Daniel. Even if he were a half brother I imagine he would be referred to as a brother in many records. Isabel's will does make it look as though he were her natural son. I have found entries on Ancestry.com that list Daniel as being the child of Sarah and William but have been unable to put my hands on any good source material. If anyone has access to Long Island Source Records from NYGBR compiler Henry Hoff may want to check for references to Daniel. It would be nice to know if he was a half-brother to the Simon Sackett that married Sarah Bloomfield. Now that I think about it he would have been a half-brother to both Simon and Sarah! Would that make him a double Uncle to Joseph? I guess I will have to keep looking.
