Louella: According to Weygant, 1505-Clark Sacket had three marriages 1) Cynthia Preston m. 2 May 1816; 2) Laura M. Akin m. Aft 4 Jun 1816 [Death date for Cynthia]; 3) Jane M. Pierce. I guess what we need are some marriage dates for Clark's three marriages. You say that Jane's surname was Minor ... Sooo, could it be that the Pierce "kids" in Clark's household in 1850 were Jane's children by a previous marriage? If they were her children, she would have been about 18 when she married Pierce. The youngest Sackett child in the household, Darius age 8 and the Pierce twins age 10 could indicate that Clark's 2nd wife died around 1842, or shortly thereafter; and that the father of the Pierce twins had died around 1840, or shortly thereafter.
