Also the SS number is on his California death certificate. The SS5 gives who Chester says are his parents when he applied for a Social Security number. In the 1920 census of Winters, Chester says his parents were born in the United States.... not helpful! He is listed only with wife Ouida. Sackett, son, age 16, born California Buel A. Sackett, son, age 14, born California Don't find Chester in the 1900 or 1910 census indexes. No other Sacket/t in the Yolo County census indexes. If Harry was Chester's dad he would be a young father according to all the ages & dates..18 or 19 years old. In the 1880 census of Vacaville, Solano Co., Calif is a Harry who could be the one in Winters in 1910, He is 17, born California, father Buel R. Sackett, age 47 born New York and Buel's wife Archella age 20. Buel is a farmer and 17 year old Harry, 15 year old Herbert and 11 year old Louis are noted as working on farm. sister Fannie is 13 years old. There father's birthplace is noted as New York and their mother's birthplace as Missouri. Nothing to connect Chester yet but something to shoot for. Harry Edward Sackett, born 13 Jan 1864 in California, mother's surname Williams died Yolo County, California on 14 Oct 1942 at age 78. Louis Sackett, born 2 Oct 1869 in California, mother's surname Williams, died Yolo County, California, 18 Nov 1863, age 94. Frances Dinsmore, born 28 Oct 1867 in California, mother's surname Williams, father's surname Sackett, died 21 Apr 1958 in Solano County, California, age 90. Their obituaries might give family information. Chester's obituary might have his parents listed also. I know Sacramento State Library has the Winter's newspapers as I have gotten an obituary from them..but I went to the library myself and am on the East Coast so can't do it now. The other place to look is the Funeral home that Chester was buried from, it should be listed on the death record and if in Winter's probably not too many funeral homes. Have found all kinds of interesting information from the funeral homes, of course maybe nothing but worth a few postage stamps. Interestingly enough don't find Dorothy with Chester & Ouida in either the 1920 or 1930 census..when was Dorothy born? Did find a Dorothy age 21, daughter of Louis in the Vacaville Solano Co., California 1930 census. Good luck.
