While working on the family of Deacon Salmon Sackett and Mercy Matilda Curtis I have run across a problem with the dates for the birth of some of the children. The dates given by Weygant, page 159 and Bronson are the same. But the dates I find in Barbour's Collection in the online databases has the dates for the first six children exactly one year earlier than Weygant and Bronson. Does anyone have anything on this discrepancy? Another problem is that the CT Vital Records do not show the birth of 1519b-Solomon D. Sackett b. 27 Mar 1804. Bronson gives the date of Solomon D.'s marriage to Mary A. Wright and a brief account of his movements and death on pages 109-110: "Salmon Dunham Sackett. He was the 10th child and 6th son, and was 7 years old when he came to Ohio. He was designing to remain on the home farm and continued on it after he was of age. He sold his interest in his Father's homestead to his brother Elezer in 18__. He married Miss Mary Ann, daughter of John J. and Saloma G. Wright, of Tallmadge, Sept 27th 1828." "He purchased a farm in Ruggles, where they commenced house" 110 "keeping. they raised a family of __ children; and in 18__ he sold his farm in Ruggles, and removed to Illinois, where Mrs. Mary Ann Sackett died Feb 16th 1872, aged 66 years.
