The more I look at Charles Weygant's book on the Sackett family, the more errors I find. It may not have been entirely his fault, as the spelling of names was varied back in that day. And, he did an outstanding job for his day. I just wish we could locate his original papers (if they still exist). For #1508-Benjamin Sacket, Jr., of Warren, son of Benjamin and Betsey (Eldred) Sacket, the Litchfield, Ct. vital records have that he married Thalia Mounthrop, of Litchfield, on 31 Oct.1827. They were married by Rev. Hart Talcott. For #1509, Orphea Sacket, his sister, the Warren vital records state that Orpha Sacket, of Warren, married Daniel E. Brimsmade, of Washington, on 3 May 1837. They were married by Rev. Fosdic Harrison, of Bethlehem, CT. Weygant has that Orphea (or Orpha) married Daniel E. Brinswold. In the index, it is spelled Brainswald and on page 249, it is spelled Brainswold. In a recent message from Thurman about the Church of Christ in Warren, he mentioned the name Daniel Brinsmade. Daniel was a minister in the Washington (first called Judea), Ct. area from 1749 until 1793 when he died. Several of the Mckay ancestors were married by him. He is buried in the Judea Cemetery. I believe that the Daniel who married Orpha was probably a descendant of Rev. Daniel Brinsmade. If anyone has more information on this, let us know. All for now. Blanche McKay
