I only just got involved in researching my father's family - BARCLAY. I did a search on ARTHUR BARCLAY and it led me to your 5-year-old post. Only yesterday I received from my mother a family history that my grandfather, James Russell Barclay, wrote in 1970. The first page has the following paragraph (I'm typing it exactly as he wrote it - spelling wasn't his best suit!): "Dad was born in 1850, in Harrisburg Penn. The family originally came from Scotland. Dad was the youngest, there were Uncle John, Bob, Hugh, Bill, and only one sister that I ever herd of, Aunt Margrette. She married a man by the name of Sackett that was Genieve Mostrom's grandmother, and he was a horse trader. Kind of a gypsy at one time he joined the church in Utah Mormans, he started preaching. Was doing fine only he didn't preach to suit them and they took his preaching job away from him. I don't know to much of that side of the house. Only there were several of them, Ed, Sackett, Roy, sisters Lulu, and a sister who lived in Ogden. We stopped to see them once on our way to Nebr. they were awful nice people. Lulu and Roy came to Nebr. and took up homesteads. Then went to Minnesota and that is where they are buried." It's probably not any help, but it was quite a coincidence that I happened to see your post.
