To Chris, I am sorry I have been so long in answering some questions you had back in January. Yesterday was the first opportunity for me to get to the downtown library to look again at the Barbour collection. They have 55 books of vital records from different towns in CT. Not included is New Haven which is in other books. The first question you asked was if Margery Sackett (#709) and David Green plus Mary Sackett (#710)and Israel Canfield were married in New Milford. All I can say is that both marriages are in New Milford vital records, VOL. LR7, page 27. It does not state that they were from any other place, so I assume the ceremonies did take place in New Milford. Children listed for Israel and Mary in the New Milford records are different than what is in Weygant's book. They are as follows: 1. Mary Canfield, b. 11 Jan.1759 2. Israel Canfield, b. 2 Feb.1761 3. Catherine Canfield, b. 29 Mar.1764 4. Salvanus Canfield, b. 11 Aug.1765 5. Urania Canfield, b. 29 May 1768 6. Anne Canfield, b. 3 Oct.1771 7. Sackett Canfield, b. 19 May 1774 On Rebecca Sackett's (#627) marriage to Salmon Carrington, it just says in the New Milford records, VOL. LR12, page 2, that Salmon Carrington, of New Milford, married Rebecca Sackett, of Westfield, on 6 Nov.1771. So, I don't know where the marriage took place since it was in Westfield records, also. Something I ran into in Berlin, CT. vital records was the marriage of a Rev. Seth Sackett, of Warren, to Hetty D. Galpin, of Berlin, on 19 Oct.1831. I could not find a Seth in Weygant's book that matched this Seth. But, I happened to copy the Warren vital records from that book. Homer Sackett (#657) married Sarah Carter 19 Aug.1787. A Seth Sackett was born in Warren on 6 Feb.1800, son of Homer and Sarah. He is not in Weygant's book under Homer, but we have a Sarah (#1526) born on that date and marrying a Harriet Griffin. Obviously a mistake, but her marriage is correct to Frederick Starr on page 253. They were married in Warren on 7 Nov.1822. Also, Seth is on page 253 as #1527. Whether the Hetty Galpin is the same as Harriet Griffin, I do not know, but I suspect it is. I do not remember this being on before. If it was, sorry! Children listed for Homer and Sarah Sackett in the Warren vital records were: 1. Theron Sackett, b. 19 Jan.1788 2. Augustin Sackett, b. 24 Apr.1789 3. Aaron Sackett, b.7 Jan.1791 4. Aurilla Sackett, b. 30 Nov.1792 (Arrilla m. Adonoram Curtis 26 Sep.1818) 5. Polly Sackett, b. 13 Jun.1794 6. Orange Sackett, b. 21 Apr.1796 7. Sarah Sackett, b.23 Jan.1798 8. Seth Sackett, b. 6 Feb.1800 9. Homer Sackett, b.8 Dec.1801 Number 4 is spelled both ways in the records. Adonoram is Adiniram in the book. A correction from Weygant's book, if it hasn't been caught, is that Aaron Sackett, #647 in the index, should be page 108, not 158. Seth, above, is not in the index, also, but should be included on pages 159 and 253. All for now, Blanche McKay
