Any thoughts on this one? > I have a copy of the settlement of 202-Jonathan's estate and the name of this daughter is Phene. The way the "P" and "h" are written; the "P" could be taken for an "I" but the "h" is obvious in this record. The guardianship paper for Phene is a little bit harder to read but the 2nd letter of the name is "h". The hand writing in the birth record could be quite different. Some time back we had a discussion concerning how many children Jonathan and Hannah had and what their names were. The names Irene and Phene came up and there was a problem because Irene was shown as having died in 1768 although both are shown as born in 1764: 8.(#651) Phene Sackett dau, Jonathan jr. & Hannah b. 1764 9. Irene Sackett dau, Jonathan Jr. & Hannah b. May 12, 1764; d. Oct 29, 1768 > > Yet another is William Sackett, #645. His wife's name is given as Bowen > or Bowman in the book. Kent vital records has her name as Beeman. > According to Gwen Boyer Bjorkman; Parke Beeman and Anna Keeney had a daughter, Eunice Beeman who married, 9 Mar 1774, William Sackett. Eunice was born in Kent twp, Litchfield Co, CT 1 Aug 1758 and died 11 Mar 1784 in Kent twp, Litchfield Co, CT, at 25 years of age. Parke Beeman was the son of Thomas Beeman and Phebe Parke. Thomas Beeman died in Kent in 1750 and Jonathan Sackett was a witness to his will on 22 Sep 1750. This indicates that Jonathan Sackett was a resident of Kent at that time. > > Whoever did the copying for the Barbour collection could have misread > many of the names, especially with files so old and varied handwriting. > > All for now, > Blanche McKay
