    3. Kari: It is as Liesa said; I love a challenge and a mystery. Looking for, and following the clues, is more fun for me than the work of compiling all the information I get from following the clues. (:>) The census info helped a lot. It is interesting that Howard is only listed with the family in the 1860 census and that he is age 9 in 1860. His brother Walter B. is the one born in 1853. From the obit and the census information, I've put together the family of Howard's father, Hiram A. Sackett [Weygant only has Hiram's name listed]: 1. Hiram Akin Sacket was born about 1824 in CT. He died in 1895. Middle name "Akin" taken from LDS IGI and is not confirmed. Sackett. The Knights of Pythias will have charge of the services at the grave. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning with interment at Rienzi cemetery. Dr. Sackett Has Sudden Summons Well Known Resident Dead After Brief Illness He Was Taken Ill At Oconto Was Former President of the State Dental Society and Prominent in Professional Circles. Dr. Howard T. Sackett, well known in professional and business circles of Fond du Lac, and a former president of the Wisconsin State Dental society, is dead at his home, 157 Sheboygan street. Dr. Sackett's death came as a great shock to the community, while the members of his family and immediate friends are stunned by the suddenness of his demise. Complaining of a cold, and cheerful in the belief that his illness was merely passing in nature, Dr. Sackett suffered a collapse at his residence at 8:15 o'clock Monday evening and he died a few minutes afterward. Poisoning due to nephritis was the immediate cause of death. Taken Ill at Oconto. Dr. Sackett, who has of late been traveling for the Combination Door company of this city, was on a business trip in the northern part of the state and while at Oconto Thursday evening he was taken ill. The doctor took to his bed and summoned a physician who remained with him part of the night. Saturday morning he had impoved sufficiently to make the trip home, and reaching here at noon Saturday he took to his bed, still believing that his illness was nothing more than a hard cold. At 3 o'clock Monday morning Dr. Sackett complained of difficulty in breathing and his respiration was labored from that time until his death. This condition gave rise to the report that the illness was pneumonia, but physicians have stated that the death was occasioned by poisoning due to nephritis. Born at Tallmadge, O. Dr. Sackett was born June 30, 1853 at Tallmadge, O. In his family were five brothers and four sisters, all of whom are living with the exception of one sister. He studied dentistry at Ann Arbor, Mich., and was graduated from the Michigan state dental school in 1879. He practiced his profession for two years at Kuyahoga, O., which was located near his birthplace, and in 1881 came to Fond du Lac and opened dental offices. Dr. Sackett practiced in this city for twenty-seven years, having offices for a greater part of this time at the head of Forest avenue. Four years ago he sold his practice to Dr. James Sorenson, and engaged in business. He served as president of the Wisconsin State Dental society in 1904 and 1905, and was at various times honored by being elected president of the local dental society. He was a member of the Knights of Phythias, being identified with the uniform rank of that order. He was an active member of the lodge and its trustee for several terms. Had A Large Practice. Dr. Sackett has always occupied a prominent position in local professional circles, and though no longer active in the practice ov dentistry, he retained membership in the local society, which is now planning to attend his funeral services in a body. Dr. Sackett, while having offices at the head of Forest avenue, enjoyed a large and lucrative practice. Was Married in 1882. On April 27, 1882, Dr. Sackett married Hattie A. Brown, of this city, who with two sons, Edwin H. Sackett, of Billings Mont., and Arthur J. Sackett, of Washington, D.C., and one daughter, Ruth, are left to survive him. Complete arrangements for the funeral were not made today but it was expected that services would be held Thursday. ------ The Daily Commonwealth, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, October 9, 1912 Services To Be Held At Cathedral Details of Dr. H.T.
