Sacketts of America: biography. Comments: Benoni's father Samuel died in November 1709, several months before Benoni's birth. His mother Elizabeth was remarried in 1712, to John Root. Benoni's name appears in a list dated 1746-47 of private soldiers in Capt. Thomas Cheney's Company of the Regiment of Foot raised in Massachusetts for the expedition against Canada.
