    3. For those interested in the descendants of 583-Rolin Sackett of Crawford Co., PA. I recently recieved an original letter written in 1860 by Erastus Sacket to a Mr. Caruthers. The letter/note was sent to me by Mary Jo Sisson March <mjssisso@netscape.net> who said: "I purchased this original Sacket letter on Ebay, and am trusting yout to keep it safely. It has survived since 1860 (143 years), and when you receive it [in Washington State], it will have travelled from northeast Missouri to the west coast twice. The main I bought it from lived in Oregon. Somehow, Dr. Carother's old trunk, from the Civil War days, had made its way to Oregon, with all the voluminous papers still intact. As you will see from this letter, Erastus was writing to Dr. Carother. They were both wheelers and dealers in politics, and military matters, in their time." Mary Jo also sent a picture of his headstone in Combs Cemetery, Luray, Clark Co., MO. These items, along with some additional information for his descendants, are posted on the Sacketts of America website at: http://freepages.books.rootsweb.com/~teking//simon/pafg40.htm#11244 Thurmon King TSFA Historian

    3. Does anyone know if Pluma Alsafine Sackett was married, and if so, to whom? (I've seen her name as Pluma and as Alsafine). Thanks. Kathy
