Thurman, I have Watson's death certificate (born 5/24/1829 died 9/6/1922) from the State of Illinois that lists his birthplace as Oneida, NY, his father as "Elijah Sackitt" and his mother as "Laura Metcalf". I can supply much information on Watson and his descendants. It's his ancestors that are causing my problems. I have found an Elijah Sacket in the census for New Hartford Township, Oneida County, NY beginning in 1830. He has 1male (Watson?) under 5, 1 male over 20/under 30 and 1 female over 20/under 30. In 1840, same township, 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 30-40, 1 female under 5, 1 female 30-40. In 1850 the family is in Dryden, LaPeer County, Michigan. Family info is: Elijah Sacket 49 Farmer Mass Julia 46 NY (I believe Laura died and Elijah remarried) Marshall 19 NY Laura 16 NY Mary 9 NY Julia 7 NY Next door one of Elijahs sons is listed Phoebe Fellows 53 Conn Rhoda " " 24 NY George Sacket 13 NY Watson is in Cherry Valley Township, Ashtabula County, Oh which coincidentally is directly below Dorset Township, Ashtabula County, Oh, previously mention on this list in relation to Mark Sackett. I believe there is a connection but have no proof. Anyway Watson is living with a Henry Round family as a laborer. He is listed as being 21 and born in NY. 1860 finds Elijah back in New Hartford, Oneida Cnty NY with the following family members: Elijah Sacket 60 Farmer Mass Julia 52 NY Laura 25 NY George 23 NY Mary 18 NY Julia 16 NY Marshall reappears in 1870 with a wife, child and Elijah. Watson is still in Cherry Valley, Ashtabula Cnty, Oh: Watson 31 Carpenter NY Cecelia 30 NY Willis B 7 OH Walter W. 3 OH Unnamed 1 OH (This baby is Webb Parker Sacket) Watson and family then moved to Odell Township, Livingston County Illinois, where he is buried. They had a daughter there, Lucy, my gr gr grandmother. Webb Parker Sacket is buried near Monroe, Adams County Indiana, also previously mentioned on this list. I have a newspaper article on his death. I have more information but this post is getting very long. If anyone has any information connecting Elijah to the other Sacket(t) trees I would love to hear from you. Barbara: Thank you for the additional information. It gives us a little bit more to go on in the effort to make a connection for this line. If you would give the 1850 census data for Watson it would be great. He is one individual I missed when I was transcribing the 1850 census. So I didn't know where he was at that time.
