Kari: Instructions for creating a "Source" citation in Version 5.0 of FTM says to put your mouse pointer in the field for which you want to create a source. Then go to "View" on the menu bar. Then select "Source". Then fill in the source information. For census data it would be entered in the "Citation Text" window. If later versions have a different proceedure you can find it by clicking on "Help" and then "search for help on" Type in "sources, recording" and then click on "Display". This should bring up instructions for your version.
