I am Michael Sackett, born in Westminster, London, England, although the previous three generations of Sacketts were born in Fulham, London. My great great grandfather was born in Ramsgate. I have lived in various parts of London, but now live in Bozeat, a small village in Northamptonshire. Unlike Billie Dale Wakefield, who is a Wakefield, but whose mother was a Sackett, I am a Sackett, but my mother was a Wakefield. I am told that the family story is that my great great grandfather William Wakefield came from Swindon, Wiltshire. I haven't yet found any records confirming that, but I have found a William Wakefield, who was born in Fairford, Gloucestershire and moved to Chelsea, London, where my mother's family came from. Swindon and Fairford are only 15 miles apart, so it could be the right William Wakefield. I am working on this at the moment. Hello Michael, I think the Wakefields originally came from the City of Wakefield, though my husbands family came from Northwich in Cheshire. Does there happen to be a Kitchener Sackett in your family tree? I would love to get in contact with the descendants of Vincent Eli and Kathleen. With four of their five children, who were born in various places in India, they migrated back to the UK in 1932 (I think), Kitchener, Patricia (my mother), Brian, Gerald and Delphine (born in Bristol).
