Hello Sackett Searchers, I have an unconnected Sackett and some of her descendants. I have dug out quite a bit using FamilySearch and Heritage Quest. I am hoping that someone with access to other online sources can add to what I have found. I don't remember, for sure, how I got started on this family. However, it was through Minnie M Vineyard who married Willis Leonard Barringer. Minnie's parents were Miller M./William M./William Vineyard and Elizabeth Sackett who were married: Illinois Statewide Marriage Index, 1763-1900 Groom/ Bride Date Vol./Page License No. County VINEYARD, WILLIAM M/ SACKETT, ELIZABETH 05/08/1849 OMR/0016 00000244 CARROLL The research of the descendants of Willis L. Barringer and Minnie M. Vineyard went quite smoothly. However, when it came to the family of Minnie's brother William Vineyard, the information became rather confusing. On August 16, 1850 he is listed as age 6 mo. In the 1860 censuses on 11 June, he is listed as age 10. He has not been found in the 1870 census. For William's future wife; In the 1860 census on June 11, Rachel D. Dillard is listed as age 5 and in the 1870 census on June 20, her age is 16. On Nov. 4, 1875 James W. Vineyard married Rachel D. Dillard. In the 1880 census, J. W. and R. D. Vineyar are both listed as age 23, which indicates a birth year about 1857. By 1900, they are both listed as age 48, born in March, 1851 and had been married for 30 years (m. 1870). Rachel is said to have given birth to 7 children and only 5 were still living. All five of the living children are listed in the 1900 census By 1910 William and Rachel had aged only 2 years, both listed as age 50 and having been married 1 time and married for 26 years (m. 1882). Rachel is said to have given birth to 7 with 5 living. Of the 3 children still at home, Charles had gained 5 years, Julia had gained 9 years and Alfred had lost 2 years.
