Liesa and Others..... I am a fairly new member and enjoying all this discussion and dialogue! In reference to knowing where other Sacketts live, this would have been valuable to us last December. My husband has retired so we decided to cruise down to Key West, FL from La. in our ' 55 Chevy. We could have said "hi" to you, Liesa, along the way! (Smile) We always thought we had such a small family and the Sackett name was rare. As we are making plans for our 1st family reunion ever, near New Orleans, we're seeing that it is growing, with possibly 50 people in attendance. ( I will encourage all, to join the association.) My brother, Steve Sackett lives there. Last year, he had made reservations to attend that reunion in Westfield. Some of y'all will remember that Hurricane Isaac hit and he had to cancel plans. I discovered the Sackett site by accident but am so thankful that I did. It is a site unmatched by others with interested, skilled people and awesome information.! Naturally, Ohio or Indiana would be a good choice for us, but we are flexible. It would take several people to each pick a location and host a couple days to pull it off, and i am not sure as much fun as it sounds if would be feasible. I really think your second idea as more possibility since that is kind of what we try and do. The only problem is the reunion is usually only a long weekend and it would make it hard to do more then a couple of them. I guess if a couple people volunteered to each rent a van (cost could be added into the reunion) or people driving have them then as many as you could get vans could do it. Do we have anyone who lives in Indiana around the Allen Library? I would at least be willing to do some preliminary research on hotels in the area (unless someone remembers from last time since i didn't get to go). I could also look at how long it would take to travel to several cities in the area if people brought up specific cities like Canton, OH.I know when we went to SLC several people added extra days and since many airlines have as cheap one tickets as round trips these days people could even plan to leave from the other locations if they wanted. Jean, I also have no idea why some people frowned on us asking for some that information. I am sure if most of us any desire to do it we could look most of us up on Google and get an exact location with a bunch of phone numbers too. its not like it would have to be a required piece of information.
