In the Springfield Vital Records (by Stott), you will find the following: "James Edson, son of Abijah Edson & Susannah Edson of Springfield, was born August 19, Anno Dom. 1759." "Intention of Marriage between James Edson and Lovina Hancock both of Springfield are here entered April 18 Anno Dom. 1780. notification posted the same day." "James Edson & Lovina Hancock both of Springfield were Joined in Marriage May 11, 1780." "Lovina Edson, daughter of James Edson and Lovina Edson was born April 12, 1786."
