Alice, I checked David's results and see that there are only results back for the first twelve markers. While they are a match for the "Simon" line, we will have to wait for the 13-25 marker results to be sure of a match with his line. Often there are "perfect" matches for 12 markers among people with different surnames, which means they are probably related but the relationship predates the use of surnames, which came into use around the 1100's or later. The remaining results should be available in a week or so. Any questions, don't hesitate to contact me here on the list or mt regular email, [email protected] Tom ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alice Sackett" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2009 11:36:41 AM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: [SACKETT] DNA We received the results of the DNA test for our son, David Sackett, Kit 148781, password N6551. It showed 27 matches for 12 markers exact match. The kit was not the lowest priced one, but the one just above it. I do not know how to interpret this in relation to whether David's ancestor was Simon or John of New Haven. According to Weygant, it was John. ??? Help! I was also interested to see that closest ancestors were in Germany, as well as United Kingdom and USA. David's maternal great-great grandparents came from Germany.
