While exploring a link that Thurmon posted recently I uncovered a treasure trove of data. The link is http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html If you visit the site and search for Sackett an overwhelming 4.700 hits are listed. If you click on Event Type and Marriages, there are 269 listed. Almost all of those are Michigan marriages (1968-1925) but a few are Wet Virginia marriages (1853-1970). The Michigan data lists the individual; their birth year and state; date and location of marriage; spouse; and parents. In addition if one searches for the name of the spouse one can find similar information about the spouse. A quick check of some of the entries reveals that some are not in the TSFA database; others may add a few details; and others enable unknown spouses to be identified. For example, on the first page of entries in my search I found James P. Sackett (b. 1847 Oswego Co., NY) m. 31 Aug 1913 in Grand Rapids, Kent, MI to Mary E. Joslin Rickner; parents Hiram Sackett & Helen Parker The TSFA database listed Mary A. ??? . Searching the database for Mary found Mary E. Joslin Rickner (b. 1855, Wayne Co., NY; m. 31 Aug 1913 in Grand Rapids, Kent, MI to James P. Sackett; parents Quartus Joslin & Mariah Brown This might be a worthwhile data mining project for someone who has time to tackle. -- Ted
