Hello, I also think Margaret Campbell is from the Enos Campbell family. I had eliminated her from the family of John as they seem to be pretty well documented. Enos does have a son Lewis who is not well documented. I have no names for his children. I feel he is one we need to check more to see he could be the father of Margaret. I am in Springfield, Sangamon Co. IL and will go to the library next week to see if I can find anything. Lewis may have died in Menard County, so I will run over to Petersburg if I can't locate any information in Springfield. It seems to me that I checked the 1830 census and found there were more Campbells in the Salisbury area at that time than I realized, so there is still a possibility that I'm wrong on Margaret belonging in Enos Campbell's line. Mike, you mentioned you were in Springfield once researching and found great resources. You are right. We have three libraries here with a tremendous amount of resources. Unfortunately, marriages prior to 1880 do not give more than the name of the bride and groom. If the bride was underage, there is usually a letter of consent in the file signed by a parent or guardian. Margaret seems to be over the age of consent though. It is good to see the responses to Margaret and to Caroline. Hopefully, we will be able to out find more about them Alyce **************A strong credit score is 700 or above.
