Dear Illyce, I suspect that someone has highjacked your connection with the Sackett mailing list, because everyone is receiving a spam message from you through the Rootsweb list. It probably isn't doing any serious damage, other than causing a lot of confusion, but you should have your system checked. The best way to avoid this kind of thing is to be very careful about opening email links if you're not sure where they come from. I am going to remove your name from the Sackett mailing list for the time being. My records show that your membership is inactive. Do you wish to reinstate your membership with the Sackett Family Association? Is there another address that we can use to resubscribe you to our list? Regards, Jean Carpenter TSFA List Administrator

I did not expect the project to be helpful to our genealogy quest but rather to provide a greater understanding of the journey itself and, therefore, what the party may have experienced and endured. One would have to be of strong character to make the journey. I wonder how the journey itself would shape one¹s resilience and determination in Connecticut. I will contact Jason. An individual has undertaken to revisit the route of Thomas Hooker¹s party from Cambridge to Connecticut in 1636. As Isabel Sackett was a member of the party, Association members might be interested in this project. Here is its website. He has a good youtube introduction to the project. https://sites.google.com/site/oldconnecticutpath/ This announcement came from the New England Historical and Genealogy Society. Anne Murray

Good question, Debbie. Joining is a simple process. Membership is open to anyone interested in any Sackett line or related individual. Just send an email to Jean Carpenter at pjtc@verizon.net requesting to join the Association. I suggest that you also let her know which Sackett lines are of greatest interest to you. I have been in contact with Jim Brandyberry who was looking for information about Otta Buess who married Floyd Brandyberry. A quick search of familysearch.org found Otta Buess as born in Mar 1882 to Frederick and Martha D. Buess of Monroe Twp., Adams Co., IN in 1900. By 1920, they are in Wyandot Co., OH. Indiana marriages on that site indicates that Otta married Floyd Brandyberry on 26 Jun 1907 in Adams Co. Jim confirmed that Otta had married Floyd and that the marriage ended in divorce. After that, Floyd married Josephine Carens. Floyd and Josephine are in Thurmon's database, with obituaries; Otta is not yet listed there.
