Another Adventure in Research. Yesterday, while working on the family of Caster B. In the Notes for her there is this source: "Tombstone of Julia Ann Sackett. Backesto Cem. Inscriptions, (http://www.indyrad.iupui.edu/public/appldorn/geneal/cemetery/backesto.htm), Julia A. Sackett, wife of David B. Coffelt, b Sept 4, 1846, dMarch 17, 1897 Cindy Torres Owens" I ran a check on the URL given and it is no longer valid. Through a Google search I found the same information posted on Genealogy Trails with the following source given: "Cemetery records of Adams County, Indiana" Mary Penrose Wayne Chapter, D.A.R. Date: 1961. Transcribed for Genealogy Trails. In the notes for Juliann (Sackett) Coffelt, there is a link to a Find A Grave Memorial which contains the same information, However, since Michelle Marolis created the memorial in 2008, a picture of the headstone has been added on 11/13/2010; by Barbara Baker Anderson. The inscription on the headstone reads: "Julia A. Sackett Wife of David B. Coffelt Sept 4 1846 Mar 7 1917" How her death date got so messed up, will probably never be known. But Julia lived almost 20 years longer than previously believed. Without seeing the headstone picture, we would still be guessing how she managed to appear in the census in 1910 when she had died in 1897 !! (Sackett) Coffelt. Briefly, David B. Coffeld married Emma Streets on 25 Apr 1861, in Greene Co., Ohio, and she is listed as his wife with three children in the 1870 census. On 9 Mar 1875, David B. Coffelt and Julia A. Sackett were married in Randolph Co., Indiana. So then, as she reported in the census for 1900 and 1910, she had no children Diggin' for details, Thurmon

Another obit I dont think is in the database re: my uncle, Willis Sackett, brother of Mary Sackett Borrowman below.   Willis Webster Sackett, 85, of Hemet, CA, died Saturday (May 14, 2011) at the Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, CA.  Willis was born on 27 June 1925, in Pleasant Hill, Pike County, IL, to the late Mert and Cora (Franklin) Sackett.   He worked at Sackett Ornamental Iron in the Los Angeles, California area for many years and as a security guard prior to his retirement in 2008. Mr. Sackett served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1950 to 1953.  He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Bronze Service Star. He enjoyed fishing, football, gardening, and camping. Mr. Sackett was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, and the Church of Christ. Mr. Sackett is survived by his wife, Patricia of Hemet; two step-daughters, Troie Jean Wilde of Ontario, Canada and Donna Scrim of Indiana; a step-son, Ricky Don Ashley of Nevada; a twin brother, Mr. Willard Sackett; and five sisters; Mrs. Mary (Charles) Borrowman,  Mrs. Lula Mae (William) Bradshaw, Mrs. Juanita (Frank) Miller, Mrs. Cora (George) Watts and Mrs. Myrtle (Maxie) Tharp.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a two brothers; Mr. Lacy Sackett of Whiteside, Tennessee and Mr. Russell Sackett of Detroit, IL, two sisters Mrs. Annabelle (William) Radefeld of Baldwin Park, CA and Mrs. Hattie (Arthur) Taylor of Clarence, MO, several nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment was May 24 at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California. There are multiple Harry Sacketts born in the 1880s in Michigan, and it appears that Harry R. changed his age with time. Michigan marriage records indicate Harry R. Sackett, b. in 1888, married Vesta or Vecta L. Benter on 16 Feb 1915 in Battle Creek, MI. Parents are L.B. Sackett and Mary Ormsby. What is interesting is that the 1900 census says Harry was b. Sept 1881 and is age 18. Thus, he shaved seven years off his age by the time he married. Then by 1920, he is age 37, making him b. abt 1883. 1930 and 1940 census records are at the end of this post. There are other records for Harry F. Sackett, b. 1880 in Michigan to Edward F. Sackett and Jennie Warner. On 28 Jan 1908, this Harry (age 28) married Etta Thomas (b. in MI, age 30) in Cadillac, MI. Another Harry Sackett was b. Dec 1889 to Fred and Emma Sackett per the 1900 census. This Harry probably is the Harry S. Sackett b. 23 Dec 1888 per the California Death Index. He died in Ventura, CA on 10 May 1975. His WWI (1917-1918) draft registration (Harry Smith Sackett) gives his birthdate as 22 Dec 1888 in Litchfield, MI. At that time he was a Deputy County Assessor in Vale, Malheur Co., OR. Harry S. is with his parents in Litchfield, MI, in the 1910 census. In the 1920 census, he is in Malheur Co., OR, and still single. In the 1930 census, he still is in Malheur Co., OR, now with a wife, Iva M. Sackett, age 39, b. in Washington. In 1940 both still are in Vale, OR. Then there is a Harry E. Sackett, age 50, in Klamath Falls, OR, per the 1930 census. He indicates being b. in Michigan and is married to Millie Sackett, age 40, b. in OR. In the 1940 census, he is listed as Harry F. Sackett, still with Mille E. Sackett in Klamath Falls. There is a Harry Sackett b. 1888 in Michigan listed in the 1910 census in Kalispell, Flathead Co., MT. He lists his father's birthplace as NY, and his mother's as PA. I downloaded the image of the marriage of Fannie to Alton A Hupp. As in the information supplied by FamilySearch, Frances had had not aged any of the 7 years since the 1910 census. FamilySearch does not include the notation that Alton had "one" previous marriage while Frances had "no" previous marriage. 4. The image of her 1920 marriage to John Almas, she reported that she was age as 30 on the 1st day of September, 1920. Therefore, by 1920 she had still lost 7 years in her age. It also appears that John Almas misrepresented his place of birth. He states that he was 31 years of age on 29 January, 1920 and reported his birthplace as Boonsville, Ky.
