Does anyone know which John RUST is referred to here? There were at least two John RUSTs in Fauquier Co in 1760. Court of 28 August 1760, p. 91 JOHN WOOD is appointed Surveyor of the Road from THOMAS WATTS's to the top of the Ridge on the Menessas Road and it is ordered that he with the Tithes that shall be assigned by GEORGE LAMKIN, Gent., do clear the keep the same in repair according to Law JOHN KIRK is appointed Constable in the room of Joseph Odor and it sord ered that he take the Oaths prescribed by Law before a Magistrate JOHN SIERS is appointed Surveyor of the Road from the INDIAN GRAVES thr ough the South Fork of Bull Run and it is ordered that he with the Tithes that shall be assigned by Yelverton Peyton, Gent. do clear and keep the same in repair according to Law Indentures of Lease and Release between JOHN BELL, Gent. and FRANKEY hi s Wife of one part and GEORGE LAMKIN of other part was acknowledged by JOHN and FRANKEY [she being first privily examined as the Law directs] and are ordered to be recorded The persons appointed to view the Road from Rector's Mill to the Main R oad returned their Report in these words, "In Obedience to an Order of Fauquier County Court, we the subscribers met and viewed the Road from Rector's Mill to the County Road and are of opinion the Old Road is the most convenient that may be had; witness our hands this fourth August 1760. SIMON MILLER, JOHN O'BANNON, JAMES FOLEY."
