I descend from Peter Rust (1745-1782 Westmoreland Co., VA). After his death, his widow, Rebecca Eskridge Rust, appears in Fauquier Co., VA in 1787. I need information on daughters Mary Sophia and Lucinda. Mary Sophia m. George Washington Edmonds in Fauquier Co. in 1798--Lucinda married Edward Turner in Fauquier Co. in 1800. It is Lucinda that is my biggest problem. My family members say that George Steptoe Edmonds, son of George W., married Lucinda Elizabeth Taylor in 1831--about this time they migrated to Missouri. It seems possible that Lucinda Rust Turner may have lost her husband and remarried a Taylor. This would mean that George Steptoe Edmonds married his first cousin, Lucinda Elizabeth Taylor, more probable than unusual. Anyone working on this line? An Edward Turner did die in Jan 1805, Fauquier Co.--his wife was Elizabeth, a daughter Anne was placed under guardianship of John Debell. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks, Virginia.
