I am trying to assist a friend in locating the missing brother of her father. His name is/was John KURALL. Born around 1905 or 1906 in Illinois, USA, the family moved/traveled to Russia in the 1930-40s (?). The family later decided to move on to Cuba, and two brothers stayed behind in Russia to complete family business. One brother died there, and the other, John corresponded with the family for some time, the family had moved to Brazil instead of Cuba. Living in rural Brazil, they depended on a neighbor to retrieve the mail from the post office, and after a while, the letters, which many times contained money, stopped coming. One day while playing ball, a family member found burned letters from John, in a field, and they realized the neighbor had been stealing the money and destroying the letters. They tried in vain to contact John, but he could not be found at the old address on the letter. John's brother died in 1990 praying to see his long lost brother, or at least to learn of his fate. My friend, the daughter of this brother is now trying to locate any information on her uncle, JOHN KURALL, son of JOHN and KINGA KURALL of America.
