OK, all, not sure I went ahead and posted these two surnames cause up until I saw the 1920 Census, I thought they were Polish. I see now they spoke Russian and were from Russia. At this point, that is all I know. Any thoughts or ideas on surnames GOOL and DZANDREK? I just read where the majority of Russian emmigrants out of Russia in 1917 were nobility fleeing the Revolution....agree? Disagree? What about the years prior? Is there a flow pattern of types of emmigrants? Specifically this is John GOOL and Mary DZANDREK GOOL who at the time of the 1920 Census were 30 years old and 28 respectively. Neither spoke English but could read and write Russian. How unusual does that make them? Tons of questions, I know...sorry!
