A native of Belmont, she was the daughter of the late Claude & Sadie Jenkins Russell. She was a member of Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Curtis H. Cathey; sons & daughters-in-law, Gary Cathey, and Michael & Kathy Cathey, all of Charlotte; brothers & sisters-in-law, Jerry Russell of Lowell, Tommy & Martha Russell of Mt. Holly, Keith & Gerrie Russell of Charlotte; sisters & brothers-in-law, Viola & Bill Keller of Maryville TN, Dianne & Lynn Hitch of Maryville TN, and Mary Abernathy of Mr. Holly; grandsons, Jimmy Cathey & his wife Tracie of Mt. Holly, Shaun Cathey Sr. of Columbia SC, and Bobby Cathey of Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Summer Cathey, Kinser Cathey, Shaun Cathey Jr. & Jaxon Cathey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kellie Cathey, brother James Russell, and sister Ma! rgaret Clark.
