Born in Ennis, Texas the first daughter of Nellie and Cincinnatus Arlando Russell, she taught school at South Bend, Texas for a year before meeting Marquis Victor Keller. They married April 29, 1929, and lived in Santa Cruz, California briefly before moving to Long Beach. Their only child, Charles Marquis Keller was born November 25, 1936. Ruthe was a member of the Lakewood Community Church congregation where she and Mark felt a true spirit of belonging. Her sense of humor and love touched many. After Mark's death, Ruthe traveled with friends and her sister to the British Isles, Texas, and the East coast. She is survived by her sister, Genevieve Cook, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; her son, Charles and daughter-in-law, Janet, of Champaign, Illinois; her grandsons Mark, and his fiancee, Amber Krieger, of Portland, Oregon, and John of Champaign, Illinois. Ruthe lost her beloved granddaughter, Jenn! ifer Anne Keller, in December 2005, but is survived by Jenny's husband, Dan Wyman, and her great granddaughters Adrianna and Yelena Keller-Wyman. A memorial service will be held at the Lakewood Community Church in Long Beach, California at a later date.
