America Smith was born in 1830. She married Ward Russell. In the mid 1860's Ward and his family moved from Richland County, Illinois to Dallas County, Missouri. America & Ward are listed in the 1870 Dallas County , Missouri Census. In 1880, America & Ward are listed in the 1880 Williamson County, Illinois Census. America & Ward had seven children: Joseph, Mahala, Jesse, Jasper, Francis, John and Bartlett.
