My direct ancestor is James Albert (generally listed as Albert) who married Susan Trammell in 1848 in Williamson Co ILL. On the marriage certificate the parents consent for J Albert is Joshua Russell. For Susan it is Phillip Trammell. Albert and Susan are shown in the 1860 Williamson Co census with children: John 12 Sarah 10 Cynthia 7 Susan 3 Elijah 1 I come from Elijah's line. Albert died in the Civil War in 1864. In 1870 Susan 38 is in Jackson ILL with the children. Family oral tradition says the family name Albert traces back to the well known Albert in Loudon VA mid-late 1700's. I have not been able to verify.
