Hi Mary Jo: I find your name GIBSON Russell very interesting. On my mother's side, I have Julia GIBSON Russell, born 19 July 1840 in Barbados, West Indies. Julia is the granddaughter of John Hunt Russell, married before 1798, and is believed to have arrived in Barbados from Ireland. There is no record of his birth or marriage. His wife's maiden name is unknown, her first name was Jane. John Hunt Russell, according to oral history, had another brother that came to Barbados with him. Possibly he left other siblings in Ireland. The early Russells in Barbados were planters. Never know, but there might be some connection...carrying the middle family name of GIBSON.
