He had 5 children by his first wife Sirena Turley married 1848 in kanawha 1 Lafayette married Sarah Byard in Lawrence Co O then Mary Agnes Midkiff in WV 2 Daniel Jackson married Sarah Lucy McDorman 3. Mary Jane (Molly) married Griffith 4 Martha married Richardson 5 Francis known as Bun married Ida Mae Childress she later married Nick Meikle Sirena Turley Russell died after 1860 and before 1864 Samuel Russell was a physician by 1863 when he married Lucretia Nancy Browder COBB a widow lady with a daughter named LueEllen who married John Montague in WV Nancy and Sam had the following children 1 Edna Gertrude who married Ralph Horton lived in Putnam 2 Lillian Ann married John Irvin LYNN in Kanawha 3 Maggie married James Conner in 1894 and they vanish 5 Lottie married Isaac Prince in 1904 in Kanawha and they also vanish.
