I am ggggrandaughter of Joshua who married Rosa. Just curious, why do people believe his father's name was also Joshua and he married Rutha? I've been researching for ten years and have never, ever found any documentation for name of parents of Joshua born in VA 1799/1800 per all census records. My brother has contributed DNA for our line of Duncan. We have been in touch with all our 1 and 2 matches whose ancestors were mostly the Carolinas. So far we have not found and exact match at 32 markers. Do you have documentation regarding parents of Joshua b. VA 1799/1800????? Oh, P.S. Chelsey Russell was a descendant of Benjamin and Mary Duncan's son Joshua. They are definitely not related per DNA evidence to my Joshua.
