Russell, George F. Russell, age 88, of Erie,County,pa, died Saturday, November 14, 2009, at St. Mary's Home Gallagher Center. He was born in Albion, N.Y. on January 21, 1921 son of the late Charles and Pauline Farham Russell. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He was an independent business owner for 22 years before moving on to manufacturing sales. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church where he was an usher. He volunteered for 16 years at St. Vincent Health Center where he also served for many years as coordinator for the Festival of the Trees. He loved and cherished his wife of 64 years and enjoyed golfing and traveling with her. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping. He was always working with his hands creating everything from Christmas scenes to receiving Garden of the Month recognition. George could fix anything with his hands especially hearts. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Russell and two brothers, Francis and Cordy Russell. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Arlene M. Dash Russell; a daughter, Susan Sampsell of Erie; a son, Chris Russell and his wife, Deborah of Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Friends may call on Wednesday at the Chapel at St. Mary's Home Asbury Ridge from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 11:00 a.m. The Francis V.
